I generally have buddies who are cool with talking about dead rats and poop and who'd excuse my need to spit out food in order to speak, but every now and then one finds themselves among the company of near strangers or people who may not share their interests or life experiences and then you have to be on your Best Behavior so they don't think you were raised in a barn, and still live there, and are in fact not even a human, you are just a farm animal that convinced itself it was.

A short and sweet one today! Workin hard finishing up sketches and stuff for the JSPH book that's being Kickstarted RIGHT NOOOWW! The Kickstarter ENDS AT 11 AM ON FRIDAY, MAY 1ST. So you've only got like 4 days to back it. The book is going to be super rad, it's gonna be a giant book chock full of book-exclusive sketches. You gotta get this thing, dudes
Who is truly the top boss? Is the quest to be top boss merely a distraction from the soon to be wreckage of our human race? We are all dying, and when we are dead, who will be top boss then
People say a lot of dumb things to fat people without knowing it! The ones I hate more than the outright "haha fat dumb cow" comments are the ones that come fom people who mean well, or who pity me. The "dumb fat cow" comments come from dummies who clearly don't know how rad I am, but the well-meaning comments come from people who do not understand that I should not have to continuously place all of my self-worth on how normal-sized I look. And advice from people I did not ask for advice from can be condescending as hell and I hate it.
The doctor part may seem really confusing to people who have not had to go to the doctor as a fat person. I do trust doctors, but also, I hate them constantly telling me the same shit over and over about how I should really lose some weight, despite the fact that I am extremely healthy and at risk for zero illnesses. And in case you think I am exaggerating, I went to the doctor a couple months ago for a weird eye problem, and they wound up giving me a bunch of weight loss tips, even though I told them I was already going to the gym regularly and eating lots of vegetables.
I also have a weird armpit lump but I'm pretty sure it's fine
Hoo boy feels good to write all this stuff out instead of letting it bounce around in my head, gettin me mad all the time! Plus now I have some panels I can screencap to use in responses to people instead of having to write words
I'm not sure if there will be a part three. If there was one, it'd be about my experiences as a fat girl, which may be a little too sad? Maybe someday!
And don't worry guys, I wouldn't be making these comics if I was super miserable. I am feeling great about myself right now, so there's no need to send me cheer-up messages or anything, I know I am rad and beautiful. Also don't send me long advice emails please
I saw a small child doing his math homework in a cafe the other day and I had to stop myself from stepping in and doing it for him because I will take any small reassurance that I am cool and good at stuff, including doing some random fifth grader's homework. Spoons will do whatever it takes to get my spot. She is silent, and swift, and will steal it right from under me for optimum spot warmth. Then when I move to a new spot, she wants that spot instead of the spot she just stole. It is Spoons' eternal quest to steal whichever spot I am occupying, and she will never be satisfied.
